I originally created the idea for an “interview tour” while doing regular interviews and hip-hop based editorials for When headed up to Washington, DC to interview Mac Miller on his tour bus, I conceived the idea of traveling to various concert stops for interviews with other artists. This idea slowly evolved from a simple series of unrelated interviews to a full “interview tour” across the United States, giving fans a look at the hip-hop culture in each city. Once the creative plan had been written, along with a budget, I reached out to Karmaloop and was pleasantly surprised when founder Greg Selkoe responded with a phone call and eventually turned me towards his head at KarmaloopTV who suggested I shoot a pilot.  Although the recent bankruptcy resulted in the dissolution of KarmaloopTV, editors there were impressed with the pilot we created and filmed.

Although the one interview filmed for the pilot was never released, super fans of Robb Bank$ somehow found the unlisted YouTube upload and began sharing screenshots and the link across Tumblr and other social media.

This project wouldn't have been so well received without the directing and editing of Chris Costello. Also thanks to Robb Bank$ and his team for being willing subjects.
